PANDYAN KINGDOM
(6th century BC - 1345 AD)

The Pandyan Kingdom was located in the extreme south of India and north of the island of Ceylon. It was part of the Tamil Empire which included Kerala in the southwest and the Chola Kingdom in the southeast. Tamil Nadu is currently the southern state of India where Tamil is spoken.
