\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tColumbus’ interest in the Magi is evident in the marginal notes he wrote in his notebooks. Columbus set out to find the Magi in the Indies and landed in the East Indies, believing he had found the homeland of the Magi in Haiti, from where he hoped to bring back gold and precious spices. Michel de Cuneo, adventurer and friend of Christopher Columbus, quoted the great Admiral in 1495: “Gentlemen, I wish to take us to the place from which one of the three Magi who came to worship Christ left, a place whose name is Sheba… When we arrived at this place and asked for his name, we were told that his name was Sobo.
