THE MAGI NEAR

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe return of the Magi takes us to the former Armenian Empire, now Turkey. Not far from Lake Van, a large monastery was built on the supposed site of a tomb of one of the Magi authenticated as such by St. Gregory the Illuminator (3rd century), founding father of the Armenian Church. The Turks partly destroyed the place during the Armenian genocide. The few ruins that allow one to imagine the former splendor of this place are now used as a manure dump.
