\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe Aga Khan III, leader of the Ismailis (1877-1957) rendered important services to the Allied cause during the First World War. His action in international politics was expressed in particular by ordering the Ismaili Muslims living in the British Empire to serve the Allied cause. He played an important role in the Round Table conferences in London on constitutional reform in India (1930-1932). He was active in the creation of the League of Nations, which he chaired from 1937 to 1938 and which became the United Nations in 1945. Within the United Nations itself, his son, Prince Sadruddin Aga Khan, came to the aid of refugees by becoming High Commissioner for the United Nations from 1965 to 1977.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
